Earth HourA worldwide event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), held annually towards the end of March encourages households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour or more to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change. Engaging a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues, Earth Hour was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide, and the one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement. Ocean beach conservation Society of Wilderness sponsored “Ocean beach conservation”, cleaning of ocean beaches and collecting plastic bottles to recycle into a commemorative T-shirt. Love for the earth by reducing waste and caring for our planet. |
