The fifth edition of the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week (DSFW) that took place this year from October 5 to 14 was all about circular fashion and recycling. S.Café® was invited to sponsor coffee grounds fabric for designer TRINHBECX and the garments were showcased in the “Talking Trashing” event.
TRINHBECX created an SS19 collection all from waste materials such as coffee grounds (S.Café®), pineapple leaf (Piñatex®) and fish scale (UMORFIL®). In addition, all accessories were made from bio-degradable food waste provided by Bio-Trimmings.
According to DSFW, 68% of consumers want to wear responsible clothing, but do not know where to buy; while 60% of consumers lack awareness on sustainable fashion. 9 out of 10 Dutch people do not know the background of sustainable brands.
